Dorset Wrasse Fishing: More Saltwater Memories

Dorset Wrasse Fishing: More Saltwater Memories sums up this little collection perfectly! A few more fish and a few more pics from my last saltwater adventure in beautiful Dorset. There were some lovely wrasse to share, alongside the rocky coastline that makes these trips such a pleasure.

Dorset Wrasse Fishing: More Fish and Photos — dark mottled wrasse held in hand above the sea
A dark, mottled wrasse to start the album.

One thing these photographs really show is how varied wrasse can look. Dark patches, pale markings and orange fins all deserve a closer look. For me, that variety is part of the appeal of wrasse fishing in Dorset.

    Rocks, sea and creature baits

The scenery deserves a place in the album too. Blue water, rocky ledges and sunshine make a lovely combination, although coastal fishing always calls for care. Checking tides, swell and a safe route back matters far more than reaching a tempting-looking spot.

Quite a backdrop for a saltwater adventure!

There is a tackle detail in amongst the fish pictures: a pink creature bait, offset hook and bullet-shaped weight. If that catches your eye, my Texas-rigged creature bait article is a relevant read. A nod to Fox Rage too, as tagged in my original update.

A closer look at the wrasse

This is more of a photographic catch-up than a detailed session diary. Rather than a list of weights or a blow-by-blow account, I wanted to share a few more of the fish and the little details that make them so striking.

The reddish tones on one fish contrast beautifully with the green and gold of another. Looking back through these pictures, it is the markings that keep drawing my attention. You could easily spend as much time admiring them as talking tackle!

Another wrasse with plenty of colour and character.

For anyone who usually follows my freshwater fishing, these coastal pictures offer a change of scene. There is more from this side of my fishing in my Dorset wrasse adventures, if you fancy keeping the saltwater theme going.

Lovely pale spots against green and gold flanks.

A fish like this makes a lovely centrepiece for the album. No need to put a number on it here; the photograph captures what I wanted to share. Beautiful fish in a beautiful part of the country — that will do nicely!

Finally, a little of the travelling side of the adventure. These trips are about more than the catches alone, and the photographs help keep the whole outing fresh in my mind. A few more Dorset memories for the collection!
