A New Chapter: Fox Rage

As you may know, I’ve been a sponsored angler for some time now and I feel fortunate to be working closely with the team at Korum. The Korum Snapper range caught me some fantastic fish, however, sadly the Snapper brand was wound down and promoting the Snapper rods, reels, Squirmz and Reggies was no longer required.
Of course, I’m still very blessed to be working with Korum in all other areas of my angling other than lure fishing. In my opinion, Korum is still the best brand for my Tench, Crucian, Barbel, Bream, Carp etc etc etc. They are the number 1 specimen coarse fishing brand and I’m very happy to still be part of the team. However, when is comes to lure fishing, perch, pike and zander I’ve been invited to represent Fox Rage going forward. Such a very exciting opportunity for me, and a leading brand when it comes to fishing for predators.

I’ve always had Fox Rage lures in my bag. I used to catch loads of pike on their Spikey Shads and since the end of last year I’ve really had my eyes opened to a full range of tackle and lure options on offer.
Fox Rage Rods and Reels
One of my favourite rods has to be the PrismX in 14g. This is a great all round lure rod on the canal or on rivers. I’ve always thought 14g and a good weight as an ‘allrounder’. I’ve also used their heavier and lighter rods, on big open reservoirs and on little streams so keep an eye out for future videos of me using these fantastic rods and reels.

Fox Rage Lures
Wow, what a range of lures! I’ve always used the Zander Pro Shads and the Spikey Shads, but now I’ve extensively explored most of the incredible lures Fox has available. Have you used the UV Slick Shads? What an amazing lures that’s been for me so far. 9cm Slick Shad in Green Pumpkin. Get this in your box, along with the 7cm version – you won’t regret it!

I’ve also used the creature baits a fair amount and the Utra UV Floating Creatures definitely need a mention. You know I love my Ned Rig fishing, and do believe that the big girls like it low and slow! The 9cm Crayfish in UV Golden Glitter has been awesome through the winter.
I could keep going with the success stories when using the Fox Rage lures, but maybe wait for the content to start flowing out of the various channels. I’ll be featuring my lure fishing on the Fox Rage YouTube channel so keep an eye out for that very soon.

Salmo
As part of the deal I’m also representing Salmo, which have always been my number one choice for hard baits. Over the years I’ve released quite a few videos of me using the Rattlin Hornets and a few other Salmo lures. There’s no better brand than Salmo in this space, incredible lures that have landed me some of the best perch I’ve ever caught!

Strike King & Lews
Another couple of brands that come under the same umbrella are Strike King and Lews. Strike King first came to my attention quite a few years ago, with their Caffeine Shad. Since then more and more Strike King lures have made their way into my bag. Most recently the Rage Craws, which has accounted for quite a few perch on a range of venues.

To be honest, I’ve not really used a lot of kit by Lews, but I’ve now taken the leap into the world of baitcasters and have been using the Lews BB1 Pro Baitcasting reel to catch some very big pike. It’s been a bit of a learning curve, but a hell of a lot of fun!
It’s not all been perch!
The Fox Rage Zander Pro Shads need no introduction, and they’ve been incredible on just about every pike fishing session I’ve had recently. I’ve been using my Lews baitcaster, and cranking in some fantastic looking fish.

Another lure to try!
What a lure this is! The Fox Rage Utra UV Slick Finesse. My favourite colour has to be the UV Wakasagi. This incredible little lure has unlocked some very tricky sessions for me recently. I like to use it with very light jigheads of 1 – 2g or it’s even better on the dropshot.

The Slick Finnesse worked well for me on the Ouse recently, when nothing else was working. I was blanking for a couple of hours, put on the Wakasagi and had three zander on the bounce!

Anyway …
I’ve gone off at quite a few tangents here! I only wanted to clear up a few questions about my association with Korum / Fox Rage – but as always once I start talking about fishing I can’t stop!
I’m very blessed to be working with such great people. I’m enjoying my fishing, which has certainly improved thanks to the products being launched by these incredible teams.
